What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember your actions and preferences over a period of time, so you don’t have to re-enter them every time you visit or navigate between pages. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixels.
How We Use Cookies
We use cookies in three categories:
Strictly Necessary
Required for the service to function. These include authentication session cookies, CSRF protection tokens, and user preference settings. You cannot opt out of these cookies without breaking your ability to log in.
Functional
Remember your preferences such as language and locale settings. These are not required for basic functionality but improve your experience.
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how visitors use Make Memoir. For signed-in users, we create an account-linked analytics profile containing the user ID, email, name when available, account creation date, and sign-in provider. We do not track you across other websites or sell analytics data.
We do not use cross-site advertising or retargeting cookies.
Third-Party Cookies
A small number of third-party services we use may set cookies on your device:
- Stripe— Sets cookies during the payment flow for fraud prevention and session integrity. Stripe’s cookies are only active during checkout. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
- Supabase— Our authentication and database provider may set session cookies to keep you logged in.
- PostHog— Our product analytics provider stores an analytics identifier and session state so we can associate activity with signed-in accounts and improve the service. See PostHog’s Privacy Policy.

- View the cookies stored on your device
- Delete all or specific cookies

- Configure browser notifications when a site tries to set a cookie
Note: blocking strictly necessary cookies (such as authentication cookies) will prevent you from logging in to Make Memoir.
